TOUR OVERVIEW


This is a one day extension that can be done at the start or end of any Turkmenistan tour. It begins and ends in Ashgabat, taking you to a horse farm just 55km away - a perfect little day trip for those interested in learning more about, or even riding, the famous golden Akhal Teke horses.

Itinerary
Day 1
Ashgabat - Horse Farm - Ashgabat
  • Beginning in Ashgabat in the morning, you'll be collected from your hotel and driven outside the city to the horse farm, 55km away, which will take about an hour to drive.
  • You'll be greeted by the family who run the farm, and given tea and snacks while you have a chance to look around.
  • Several Akhal Teke horses will be brought out for you to look at, stroke and ask questions about, while the guide explains about this fascinating breed of horse, and answers any questions you might have.
  • You'll have a chance to go for a horse ride if you would like to, which is paid for directly to the owners of the horse farm, or if you'd rather not, you can just stay and explore the stables.
  • Lunch will be provided.
  • Return to Ashgabat in the afternoon.
