TOUR OVERVIEW

This tour has been carefully designed to give a varied overview into everything that Pakistan has to offer, but also conveniently works as the perfect way to get your visa for Afghanistan.

We will begin in the modern capital of Islamabad where we will visit the super funky largest mosque in South Asia and see the more organised side to Pakistan’s beautiful chaos. We will use our time in the capital to get those important visas for the following Afghanistan trip and will also visit the surrounding countryside where we can dive into Pakistan’s ancient history, and small but existent alcohol production industry.

After Islamabad, we head north into some of the most spectacular mountains in the world located in Pakistan’s Hunza Valley. The scenery up here is incredible for you mountain lovers as you’ll be seeing peaks over 6-7000 metres above sea level all around you!

Next we’ll head south to the huge bustling chaotic city of Lahore, which feels like it’s in a different world to Islamabad. Here we’ll experience the Mogul history of Pakistan, visiting the Lahore Fort and the famous Badshahi Mosque, but you’ll also just get the chance to take in the vibe of this unique city. Your senses will be on high alert, with the intensity of the truck building yards, the street doctors, and the truly bizarre potions and notions on every corner.

From Lahore we will of course also visit the famous Wagah Border – a true and functioning border crossing into India, which also happens to be the home of the absolutely unmissable spectacle that’s put on every single day.

We’ll then head back to Islamabad to get our flight to Kabul and continue this epic journey!

The hustle and bustle of Kabul is very different to life in other cities, while life in rural areas is often like stepping back in time. Learning about the history of Afghanistan, as well as finding out about the trials and tribulations of modern day life, we traverse Afghanistan, exploring diverse areas such as Kandahar, Kabul, Mazar, Balkh and Samangan. We'll both drive and fly to cover as much distance as possible.

Highlights include visiting a school for girls right in the heart of Taliban Kandahar, travelling the Silk Road ourselves and visiting the ancient Bactrian capital of Balkh, admiring the over 1000 year old minarets of Sultan Masud at the entrance to Ghazni, and visiting the children's circus in Kabul where local kids get to escape every day life while making friends and having fun.
