With a country as large as Algeria it is good to have a wide range of clothes. Algeria’s climate though is certainly on the warmer side, however both the mountains and the desert can sometimes throughout some extreme temperatures.
The desert can be very cold at night so it is best to pack something that can handle the cold. In winter temperatures in the desert can reach below -5 Celcius. However day time in the desert in colder months is still very bearable with temperatures around 15-20 Celcius.
If you choose to travel in the summer then modest loose fitting clothing is advised to be able to cope with both the heat and conservative nature of the country.
Our group tours will be running in the cololer months to avoid the scorching Sahara sun in summer. We recommend packing both a light jacket and maybe something a bit more heavy duty for those cold nights in the desert.
