The recent escalation of the conflict in the Middle East and the intensified Israeli strikes on Lebanon has meant that we have needed to reconsider our approach to our Syria tours.
The first change is that we will no longer be entering or exiting Syria via Lebanon. The capital, Beirut, is being targeted on a near daily basis. Most flights in and out of Beirut have been cancelled. The border between Lebanon and Syria at Masnaa has been severely damaged and is no longer passible by vehicle. And most importantly, the country is undergoing a humanitarian crisis for which our presence is no longer helpful.
Because of this, all trips we offer to Syria for the foreseeable future, will be entering and exiting the country from Jordan. Guests will need to make their way to the capital of Jordan, Amman, from where they will be transferred to Damascus.
The second change is that we, for the short term future, will not be offering large group tours to Syria. We have deemed that Syria is still safe to travel to, according to itineraries, but that for ease of movement and travel during this tense time, we will only be offering small private tours.
We hope that the conflict in the region is resolved quickly and as peacefully as possible, and in the meantime we will continue to assess the situation and make updates as necessary.
Thanks for your ongoing support.
