Saiga tours is proud to announce our partnership with Parwana Children’s Circus. The Parwana Children's Circus is a small, dedicated charity, working in Afghanistan teaching the next generation of young Afghans the tenants of hard work, dedication, patience and, most importantly, working as a team.
In a country torn apart by decades of conflict, giving the next generation something beyond mere existence has the ability to encourage new types of learning and interaction with others, developing important social skills and building confidence.
The word "Parwana" is Dari for "butterfly", and like butterflies, the creative mind behind the organisation, Hamid, wants his students to both literally and figuratively fly – so be ready for some acrobatics!
Afghan children have a lot of energy and creativity. A challenge for this generation of young Afghans hoping to build peace in the future, is learning how to focus that energy, learning how to concentrate on developing skills. The young children at Parwana aren’t just learning skills, but learning how to learn, and most importantly, having fun while they are doing it.
From its headquarters in Kabul, Parwana travels out to small villages as well as refugee camps, putting on educational classes and circus shows. You’ll see the pure joy in the children’s eyes when you come to witness the circus for yourself, something you don’t often get to experience in Afghanistan.
This is why we are proud to partner with the Parwana Children’s circus. For every guest who joins us on an Afghanistan tour, $20 is donated to the good work this organisation is undertaking.
If you are joining us on an Afghanistan tour and would like to contribute more on top of our donation, please feel free too. You can also bring gifts for the children, which can be a great way to connect with them and get even more out of the experience.
Of course if you are not planning to travel to Afghanistan any time soon, this doesn't preculde you from being able to help out. You can either speak to us about this or get in contact with the organisers directly.
