New Visa on Arrival Fees for Syria

It’s now been over 2 months since the fall of Assad and Syria is beginning to once again connect with the outside world. Travel is also starting to pick up and with that a new system is slowly taking hold for those wishing to visit.

We had written previously about a new visa on arrival system that has been instated since the fall of the Assad government which is available to all nationalities except for citizens of Iran or Israel. While for the time being the land border crossings have no fees, those who arrive at Damascus International Airport will be subject to new visa fees. According to our latest information here are the latest prices on Syrian visa on arrival fees:

US citizens: $200

UK citizens: $150

EU citizens: $75

If past experience with visa pricing is anything to go off, then we also expect Australian and NZ citizens to be around $150 and people from South America or developing countries will usually be cheaper than EU passports. Once we have a full schedule of fees we will be sure to update.

It is still not known when these fees will apply to the land border crossing but the one thing we do know is that this is inevitable.

If you would like to travel with us to Syria, then check out our Syria tours on our website. We will be heading back in April of this year (2025) so if you would like to be in one of the first tour groups to head back to Syria post fall of Assad then send us an email to [email protected] .
