Algeria has updated its visa on arrival costs and we’re here to give you the new news. Prices for visa on arrival have increased dramatically, as you would expect, as the Algerian government opens up to increased tourism and are expecting to raise more income from the tourism industry.
In order to be eligible for visa on arrival, you must be booked on a tour and the price of the visa is dependent on how many days you are staying in Algeria.
Those individuals wishing to travel to Algeria can still choose to get their visa in advance from a diplomatic mission. A multiple entry visa which allows for stays up to 30 days is $160USD when you obtain it from a consulate or embassy, rather than on arrival at Algiers International Airport.
Although the visa on arrival prices are quoted in Algerian Dinar when you arrive in Algeria, it is not permitted to pay for the visas with any currency other than US dollars or Euros. You need to have the correct amount as the visa desk will often not have change, or at least say that they don’t have change.
When paying for your visa on arrival at Algiers International Airport, you must pay in cash. You also need to make sure you have new and undamaged bank notes.
